She won the 2003 Ottawa Tourism Media Award, which recognizes a journalist's exceptional stories on Ottawa and Canada's Capital Region (Nov, 2003), and won a certificate of merit from the Quebec Community Newspaper Association (May 2003) for her environment columns. Author of five guidebooks and an anthology contributor for Michelin (Green Guide Canada), she writes regularly for Distinction, Travel Canada, Ottawa Life, Ottawa City, City Woman, Forever Young, and Capital Parent. She contributes to Yankee, The Washingtonian, Elegant Wedding, Wine Spirits Quarterly, The Dallas Morning News, The Ottawa Citizen, and Pages.

Hilary Nangle, Waldoboro, ME
(2004-2005) Since the November 2004 Travel Classics conference, Hilary Nangle has sold articles to American Style, Art & Antiques, Four Seasons and Westways, as well as AAA Northern New England Journey Ski, Ski Press and Yankee. She's also written for Budget Travel, Elegant Wedding, New England Travel and Life, Straad and Where to Retire as well as newspapers. She authored the second edition of Moon Handbooks Coastal Maine (Spring 2005), and is currently researching new editions of Moon Handbooks Acadia National Park (slated for Spring 2006) and Moon Handbooks Maine (slated for Spring 2007). In 2003, she won the North American Snowsports Journalists Association's Harold Hirsch award for magazine writing. Hilary is a member of ASJA and SATW, and appears regularly on Maine's Portland-based NBC affiliate as a travel expert.

Cleo Paskal, Montreal, Canada
(2002) me@cleopaskal.com. Cleo's embarrassing moonlighting in TV finally caught up with her. In a very big way. A show she wrote, "Cirque du Soleil: Fire Within", won the Emmy for Outstanding Nonfiction Series. The competition was: "The Osbournes", "Antiques Roadshow", "Trading Spaces", and "Da Ali G Show". She is as confused about it as you are. However, at the current exchange rate, she figures her 15 minutes of fame are worth at least 22 minutes in Canada.

(1999). A member of the ASJA and SEJ, Trish specializes in Florida, Family Travel, Environmental and Health Issues. Currently she's touring Florida as hotel inspector for the Unofficial Guide to Florida.

Contributing editor to Travel Holiday magazine, frequent contributor to the "Circuits" section of the New York Times. Other clients included Sunset Magazine, Travel and Leisure, Town and Country, and Travel + Life. In February 2003 became full-time Managing Editor of Sasquatch Books in Seattle, so very little time for freelancing these days.

(2001) sharonspence@cs.com Because of attending Travel Classics in November 2001, Sharon sold a story to Travel & Life called "Confessions of a Wild Woman". That became part of a portfolio of work that enabled her to win the Grand Prize as TRAVEL WRITER OF THE YEAR 2002, from North American Travel Journalists Association.
