Qualifications:
Open to 40 professional travel writers who have published a minimum of three major magazine
articles within the last 18 months. A list of publication credits must accompany the application,
along with two qualifying clips. Travel Classics Contest Winners need not send qualifying clips,
but must send list of recently published articles.
Conference Fee (does not include accommodations):
Early bird (on/before Aug. 31, 2012): $650
After Aug 31, 2012: $750
Spouse or guest fee: $550
To pay via PayPal (credit card or bank draft): add 3% service fee
Attendee and guest payments are due in full by October 15, 2012. To qualify for the early bird
rate, you must pay the discounted fee of $650 in full by Aug. 31, 2012, otherwise the regular
fee will apply.

The accommodations fee at Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North is $165 per night, single or double,
including tax, gratuities, Wi-Fi and daily buffet breakfast.
Included in conference and accommodations fees:
- 3 nights accommodations
- 3 scheduled breakfasts, lunches, and dinners (excluding lunches for guests)
- Refreshments during 4 scheduled breaks (excluding guests)
- All evening activities (including transportation to and from offsite events)
- Editor presentations and one-on-one consultations
- Exposure on TravelClassics.com in Alumni News and TC Authors Section
Not included:
- Airfare (we hope to announce a media sponsor soon)
- Ground transportation from airport
- Lunches and snacks for guests
Deposit:
Please note that due to the selectivity of this conference (only 40 attendees), a $350
deposit is required at the time of registration for all accepted applicants. The deposit will be
applied to the appropriate conference fee or returned immediately if the writer is not
accepted.
Guest Fee:
A charge of $550 for a non-participating spouse or friend will be applied to the attendee's
conference fee to cover guest expenses, such as meals and activities not picked up by the
accommodations fee. Attendee and guest payments are due in full by October 15,
or the applicant's registration is void. For those receiving the early bird discount,
the entire early bird fee of $650 is due by August 31, or the regular fee will apply.

Cancellation Policy:
Please be reminded that due to the selectivity of this conference, a $350 deposit is
required at the time of registration for all accepted attendees.
Attendees who apply early (by August 31, 2012) will be notified of their acceptance within 2 weeks
of application.
Refunds:
- Before Aug. 31, 2012: complete refund, including deposit
- Between Aug. 31 and Oct. 1, 2012: full refund, less the $350 deposit
- Between Oct. 1 and Oct. 15, 2012: full refund, less the $350 deposit and a $100
cancellation fee
- After Oct. 15: NO REFUNDS GIVEN
Please note that there will be NO EXCEPTIONS to the refund policy.
Travel Classics is not liable for nonrefundable airline tickets or any other related expense
incurred by the participant. If your schedule is tentative, we suggest you take out travel
insurance and we will be happy to provide you with a list of preferred companies.
Program Participation:
It is the responsibility of the participant to be on time for scheduled tours, events and
programs. No refunds or substitutes will be given for missing any scheduled meals.
Liability:
Travel Classics is happy to negotiate special meal, accommodation, and transportation rates
for conference attendees, speakers, and guests. Travel Classics is also pleased to work with
tourism sponsors in providing complimentary pre- or post-conference trips for conference attendees
and speakers. Travel Classics is not responsible for the acts or omissions of tourism hosts,
change of flight times, delays, losses, injuries, inconveniences, cessation of operations,
bankruptcies, acts of God and other events beyond our control. Travel Classics does not own,
manage, control or operate any transportation vehicle, hotel, restaurant, or other supplier of
services. Independent third parties provide transportation, accommodations, sightseeing, meetings
and other services. All arrangements with such independent contractors are made solely for the
convenience of Travel Classics conference participants. and are undertaken at the risk of the
Travel Classics participant. All Travel Classics participants release Travel Classics and its
operators from any claims for loss or damage to baggage or property, or for personal injuries or
death, or for any loss from delay arising out of the acts, omissions or negligence of any
independent contractors, including, but not limited to, air carriers, hotels, excursion providers,
restaurateurs, transportation providers or medical providers. Each Travel Classics participant
agrees to indemnify Travel Classics and the operators for all penalties, charges, losses or
expenses incurred by virtue of any act, omission, violation, or law by the participant.
Participant will also indemnify Travel Classics for any reasonable attorneys' fees and expenses
that Travel Classics may incur by reason thereof. Travel Classics does not assume and expressly
disclaims responsibility for any claim, action, cause of action, injuries, losses or damages
arising from the actions of third-party contractors supplying services. Travel Classics is not
responsible for any theft, loss, pilferage and/or damage to any participant's personal property.
Suppliers such as hotels and airlines print and/or post the limit of their respective liability to
passengers/guests.
